Carissa Diane Jadoski

Carissa Diane Jadoski, age 51, of Wellsboro, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 15, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born February 12, 1973, in Wellsboro, she was the daughter of John Jadoski and Marilyn (Preble) Elgezawi.

Affectionately known as “Meme” to her grandchildren and several others, Carissa is described as a good and compassionate human, who would go out of her way to help anyone in need. She was employed at Dollar General in Wellsboro and enjoyed interacting with customers, keeping a basket of goodies set aside for any children who stopped in. Some of her hobbies and interests included camping with her family, riding motorcycles and ATVs, and collecting Lighthouse memorabilia. She also loved singing and dancing, especially Polka Dancing, having grown up around her family’s Polka Band. Carissa had an incredible and unwavering love in her heart for everything and everybody, including her beloved family, whom she adored and cherished.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Lanee (Kyle) Stevens, of Wellsboro, Lacey Watson, of Wellsboro, and Christian Bellinger (Mackenzie Fuhrer), of Wellsboro; grandchildren, Xander, Taryn, Sofia and Lilianna; mother, Marilyn Elgezawi, of Wellsboro; brother, James Mowers, of Wellsboro; stepfather, James A. Mowers, of Wellsboro; her spoiled fur baby, Scrapper, and many dear friends.

 In honor of Carissa’s love for animals, memorial donations can be sent to the Second Chance Animal Sanctuary, 725 Gee Road, Tioga, PA 16946. 

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, August 22, 2024, from 1 – 3 p.m., at Wilston-Currie Funeral Home, 130 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA 16933. Carissa’s memorial service will immediately follow visitation hours at 3:00 p.m., with Life Celebrant, Tyler Currie, officiating, www.wilstoncurriefh.com.
