Frederick John Audinwood, 95, lifelong resident of Tioga, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. Born September 21, 1928, in Tioga, Fred was a son of the late Harry G. and Leota E. (Thomas) Audinwood.
Fred owned and operated his family farm in Tioga for over 25 years and was also employed by Westinghouse, his father as a veterinarian technician, and the United States Post Office #248. He was a proud United States Army Veteran, having served in the 5th Army Division, Second Infantry, 38th Field Artillery Battalion, during the Korean War and battle of Heartbreak Ridge.
Additionally, he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tioga, life member of the Corning VFW #524, member of the Herbert Lee Webster American Legion #235, former member and president of the Tioga Lions Club, and served several years as a boy scout leader. As a farmer and child of a veterinarian, Fred had a deep love for all animals, although he did have fond memories of coon hunting with his father.
Left to cherish his memory are several nieces, nephews, and close friends, Ed and Paula Bolt, of Tioga. In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by four brothers, Harry, Willis, Merle and Roger Audinwood.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday, March 30, 2024, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., at Wilston-Currie Funeral Home, 130 S. Main St., Mansfield.
Fred’s funeral service will immediately follow calling hours at 1 p.m., with Rev. Carol Urich officiating. Fred will receive Military Honors and be laid to rest in Elmwood Cemetery, Caton, N.Y., www.wilstoncurriefh.com.
