James M. Parnick, Sr.

James M. Parnick, Sr., age 89, of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at his residence. He retired from the United States Navy as a Corpsman, HM1, and proudly served his country during multiple wartime eras. Born March 11, 1934, in Detroit, MI, he was a son of the late John Parnick and Helen (Spunich). Jim is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary "Connie" Parnick, of Mansfield; sons, James M. Parnick, Jr., of Mansfield, and John R. Parnick, of Clare, MI; daughters, Mary Ann (Michael) Buckley and Jeanne Marie (Gerald) Collins, both of Illinois; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren; and many dear friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend Jim’s Mass of Christian Burial on November 10, 2023, 10:00 a.m., at Holy Child Catholic Church, 242 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA 16933, with Rev. Bryan Wright officiating. He will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA, with full Military Honors.
