Michael Patrick Finch, age 80, of Cogan Station, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 10, 2025, with family by his side, at UPMC Williamsport Hospital. He married Donna Kiesel Finch, sharing 56 beautiful years of marriage together. Born October 21, 1944, in San Mateo, CA, he was the son of the late Vincent & Eunice (Learned) Finch.
One of the best words to describe Michael Patrick Finch would be devoted, due to his unwavering devotion to his God, country, family, and profession. He was a devout Catholic, served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, adored his family, and served with United States Postal Service until his retirement. He was affectionately known as ‘Pop’ to his grandchildren and had so much pride and love for all of them. Michael also enjoyed football, especially while supporting his favorite teams, the Seattle Seahawks and Notre Dame Fighting Irish. His true superpower was his willingness to sacrifice himself for others, whether that be for his country as a Disabled American Veteran, or the betterment of his family and career.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 56 years, Donna Kiesel Finch; children, Resa Finch Hudson and James M. Finch; grandchildren, Jordan(Stephen), Zane, and Xander; great grandchildren, Keagan, Lillee, Avigale, and Waylon; sister and brother-in-law, Ellen & Gary Kreider; brother-in-law, Freddie Cureau; several nieces & nephews; and many dear friends.
In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by an infant brother, James, and siblings, Susan, Mary, and Terri.
In keeping with Michael’s wishes, funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of his family. He will be laid to rest in the Fort Indiantown Gap on a date to be determined. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Wilston-Currie Funeral Home, Mansfield, www.wilstoncurriefh.com.
