Robert W. Stevenson

Robert W. Stevenson, age 67, of Covington, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at his residence. Born December 18, 1955, in Blossburg, he is a son of Leonard and Artheia (Fields) Stevenson.

Bob was employed by Ward Manufacturing, Crete Carrier Company, and multiple other trucking companies. He was a United States Army Veteran and took great pride in serving his country. He cherished his Ford Mustang and Plymouth Satellite, frequently detailing the cars and taking them for fast joy rides. Known by family as “keeper of the keys,” he also loved his tractors, vehicles, and puppies, Linex and Digger. Bob was a loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys, western movies, sudoku, and a good steak. He was quiet, but particular about the things that he loved. He was frugal but could have bouts of surprising generosity. He was an introvert and not afraid of a well-placed cuss word. When Bob smiled, his eyes crinkled, and you couldn’t help but smile too.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Artheia Stevenson, of Mansfield; daughters, Amysue (Lonny) Hurst, of Columbia Crossroads, and Alisha Stevenson-Chavez, of Columbia Crossroads; stepdaughter, Amanda Barr, of Westfield; grandchildren, Lindsay, Noah, Xander, Jasmine, Stephen, Bryce, and one on the way; brothers, Michael Stevenson, of Covington, and Duane Stevenson, of Horseheads; sister, Patricia Nickerson, of Mansfield; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

In addition to his father, Leonard Stevenson, Bob was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Kody Chavez in 2021.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Bob’s name to the American Lung Association, 55 W. Wacker Drive, Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601.

Family and friends are invited to join a dish-to-pass luncheon, celebrating Bob’s life, on Friday, September 8, 2023, 2:00 p.m., at the Sullivan County Community Center, 103 Williams Road, Mainesburg, PA 16932.
