Theresa Lynn Weit-Lowe

June 14, 1970 — September 28, 2024

Corning, NY

Theresa Lynn Weit-Lowe, age 54, of Corning, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, NY. Born June 14, 1970, in Lancaster, PA, she was a daughter of the late Melvin Green and Linda Polson.

Theresa truly was one of those unsung heroes who quietly fought through her own physical struggles, determined to live a full and happy life, all the while, providing love, laughter, and friendship for everyone around her. She had a strong hate for Type 1 Diabetes, which ultimately took her life and her father’s life. Therefore, Theresa and her family would ask that everyone do anything they can to support and advocate for those suffering from this horrible disease.

She was a free spirit, who loved traveling, making new friends, and attending live concerts, especially country concerts. Referred to as “Mama T,” Theresa was looked at as a mother figure to so many and was very protective of those she cared for. Naturally, she was an incredible homemaker, fiancé, mother, and grandmother for her own family, often spoiling her grandbabies. She also loved the Christmas season, attending Pittsburgh Steeler’s games, and the cherished friends she made in her Diabetes Awareness Groups. Theresa aligned her life with her favorite quote, “Where love is concerned, too much is not even enough.”

Left to cherish her memory are her loving fiancé of 15 years, Lee Wilson, of Corning, NY; children, Lauren Rivera (Rory Russell), of Elmira, NY, Austin Lowe, of Millerton, PA, and adopted daughter, Jonell (Roger) Hendricks, of North Carolina; grandchildren, Kolby, Andrew, and Ryland; siblings, Kimberly, Lisa, Mary, Ronald, Doug, Peggy, and Max; several cousins, nieces & nephews; and many dear friends.

In addition to her parents, Theresa was preceded in death by her sister, Rebecca Polson; brother, Melvin Jr.; cousin, Tanner Kolb; and aunt, Virginia Murphy.

In honor of Theresa’s courageous battle with, and hate for, Type 1 Diabetes, memorial donations can be made in her name to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023 Merrifield, VA 22116-7023, www.diabetes.org/donate.
